April is Jazz Appreciation Month (JAM). The Smithsonian National Museum of American History created this musical nod in 2001 to encourage global appreciation of the American art form of jazz. This month is all about spotlighting the heritage, voices and innovators of jazz music. While we don’t have any local jazz events planned, we can certainly appreciate the art form in our own homes. Watch a documentary on a jazz musician or download some tunes you haven’t played before and listen to this truly American art form!
