Imagine growing up with four sisters in the house, all involved in music! She is the youngest. Robyn says they started with dance but moved into piano, violin and classical guitar. “I loved the piano! It gave me the foundation for reading music,” a skill one doesn’t forget. “Piano reminds me of my sister and sister-in-law. These were my inspirations. When I play, they are in the room with me and that brings me lots of comfort. I can feel their presence.”
Ninety percent of that inspiration comes from her Mom, who welcomed the entertainment. “She put us into ballet and opened me up to music. I will never regret the time spent in classical music. Mom inspired me to stay with it.”
When she and her husband arrived in Pagosa, they were looking for a teacher for voice and piano. That’s how she found Venita. It is her time to pick up the piano again.
She believes “Never give up music. Dance, music, art. It is my therapy.”
She and her husband, who plays the guitar, love hanging out and playing together with songs like Jim Croce’s “Operator.” It really is a family thing, and her sisters are right there with her.
